Kans and Kandy Charitable Trust Supports St Benedict’s Hospice and Local School Library
The Kans and Kandy Charitable Trust is proud to have supported St Benedict’s Hospice, helping them continue to provide loving and dignified care to patients and their families.
Our donation contributed towards a new minibus for their dedicated patient transport service — due to be delivered in mid-April — and helped sustain their vital bereavement counselling service, which is fully funded by the charity. We are honoured to play a small part in enabling their compassionate work, which touches so many lives.
In addition, we were delighted to collaborate with St Benedict’s and a local primary school in Newcastle upon Tyne to help create a new school library. At the request of an accountancy firm connected to the school, we reached out to St Benedict’s to collect book donations through their retail stores, which resulted in a generous selection of books for the children.
The Kans and Kandy Charitable Trust then made a further donation to St Benedict’s in recognition of their help, and we also fulfilled the school’s wish list of specific books. This included a second delivery of books after visiting the school and seeing the plans for their new library space.
We were thrilled to see photos from the school’s World Book Day celebrations, showing the joy the books have already brought to the children. While the library’s full development is currently on hold until the end of the academic year, we look forward to continuing our support as the project progresses.
